Hi Amelia,
Just went to my Kindle account and can't find your Husband's book under the author listing, shame as I would liked to have read something by him.
Take care,
John

Hi, Danny & Gang ,
Thanks for your posting and your mention of the underground and that unmistakable
smell of the underground and it was ironic that I started from Scotland Street as I served an
apprenticeship with James Howdens fifty years ago initially at Craigton ,Cardonald. and I did
some of my apprenticeship at Scotland Street . If my memory serves me well it was about three pounds five shillings and seven pence <old money>. At the time I got the No. 15 bus from Knightswood to the
Premises. No Health and Safety just a pair of Steel toe caps a boiler suit and a lot of old fashioned
Common Sense"!! Those were the days and what used to amaze me was that the Journeymen who were on about 30 pound a week plus over time were always skint on a Monday .!!! And used to ask me for a
Sub or a loan .!!! I am sure that it had something to do with owing money to the Bookie Runner or just drinking too much at the week-end .? Take car and best regards .!
