Hi Danny
You're probably right it would be some wee fly men trying to get a street rep for themselves. They're lucky my wee Dad didn't get a hold of them 'cos their rep then would be that had a sore erse! Yes I do recall the steamie and the hot wall. Also remember going for a bath there too. Went to the steamie a couple of times to help my Aunt, noo that was real work. The women in those days took it all in their stride as well. I lived in Logan Street so I was the next street over from you. Sheila.

Hi , again Shelia,
What great memories eh !!!, Jeannie French's shop, the Logan bar, Malls Mire bar the 101 trolly bus, Rosemary Robertson [Redscot] lived in Logan st too , did you know her ?. My uncle Willie Glasgow who lived above my Ma and Da's was a bookies runner for the bookie in Logan st, in those far off days it was illegal to gamble and the black mariah used to pull up and arrest all the punters !!!! ah changed days now you can sit down and have a cup of tea while watching the racing.
Memories again! I recall Jeannie French's shop, the Logan bar (my wee Dad's hangout) the Molls Mire and the 101 trolly. Remember it's last stop was at Queensferry St. There was a pub there I think it was called the Wee Man or something like that. (Memory not what it used to be) The illegal bookies brought back a memory or two. Your Uncle Willie Glasgow's name sounds very familiar to me. Was he a runner for Big John Murphy? I remember the Black Mariah's picking up all the men. All the weans were traumatized! Yes I do know Rosemary (Red Scot) I have only recently re-connected with her in this past few days by email. Haven't seen her in probably 42 years so it was nice to get in touch with her again. Well danny I'll look forward to the next memory you drum up for me. All the best! Sheila
