To open Bardot's fiasco RIGHT CLICK on the link and choose Open Link in New Window.

Presumably Ma'mselle Bardot said, in French of course, "You expect ME to go to Glasgow in December, not on yer Nelly Seany Boy, it's St. Tropez for Moi!"
Hi Jimbo,
Well done mate and thanks for persevering to get the link for us.

Hi, Danny

just thought I would chip in to the Sean Connery B/ Bardot Salako discussion.
You mentioned St. Moritz and the French connection . Well A friends son has just come back from there after winning a prize holiday from his firm.
A pint of Lager was £11 <about 12euros>so will not be going there for "The Fair Fortnight"
So probably not for you and me.
But for me living in rural France it does have some compensations .
For instance there is a wee French guy who comes round every year and stays for 2 weeks and the
local people take all there old rotten fruit and stuff and he has a copper still and he converts rotten apples
plums walnuts , pears ,cherries etc , etc. Anyway the upshot is all the locals get about 50 litres at a time
and probably pay about 10 pence a litre. It is government controlled so every one get s something out of it. It reminds me of the 50 s and 60 s when on building sites you had a night watchman and
he lived in a hut and a coke brazier burning away. Anyway a slight diversion and Iwas reading
yesterday that there was a discussion and meeting organised in The Gorbals Church regarding

Benefit Cuts. I dont envy those people. This is the sherriff of Nottingham in Government at
the moment.!!

Best regards

Finally to all "Empty Beer Bottle " observers I think that I should mention an ironic twist.
I was not to know that 17 years after collecting "empties" in the Gorbals in the fifties that I
would be trained to work in A glass container manufacturer called Rockware Glass, where I
would be in charge of a machine that produced hundreds of thousands of beer ,wine ,jam, coffee jars
and many many others. I believe that the site was sold in Greenford in Middlesex and the company
relocated to Kilwinning in Ayrshire where they are to this day. While I never got cold in the winter
working those machines because of the hot molten Glass tanks overhead you did get fed up seeing thousands of bottles speeding along the conveyor belt when you had your machine at full capacity.

Just thought I would share this fatalistic twist with everybody.

Best regards Reg :)
