Does anyone remember "Spangles" and when did they stop selling them?? I remember going up to the hospital to visit my uncle (he liked a sweetie) and I went into a shop and asked for a packet of "Spangles" the man asked me where I had been as they had been off the shelves for years that was a few years ago, felt like an idiot, but anyway when I told my sisters we all had a good laugh.

And Opal Fruits are gone too..they're now called Starburst or something. I loved blackjacks, four a penny, and halfpenny caramels, and how many flavours of penny dainty can you remember? Knocking them against a corner of a wall to split them. And a big orange face from a Jubilee..Bazooka chewing gum, with a wee comic strip in it, and Parma Violets...I could go on forever.

How about Highland Toffee and Rock that was brought back from your holidays...Also Snowballs and macaroon bars....all of them rotted our teeth but boy were they good going down...Then there was rhubarb with a wee poke of sugar to dip it it...that was when you couldn't get a sweetie...
