Thanks Amelia, Danny
For your comments on cycle through France. It was not all plain sailing but our group was four and on Fathers day just before we set off after breakfast there was thunder and
lightning and hailstones as big as golf balls. So obviously we had to wait about half an hour till they melted away otherwise it would have been like cycling through hundreds of round marbles.!!
A lot off damage was done to property and dents on roofs of cars within 10 kilometres of where I live
so I was dreading getting home and surveying any damage that may have happened during my absence.
Fortunately everything was ok.!!
Those not so lucky formed a queue outside the insurance company on the Monday morning and all
along the road 50 or so people were seeking claim forms to apply for compensation . The sky if you saw
it looked like it was upside down ???
On a lighter not we always finished at a bar aafter our 80 or 90 km and two cold beers set us up for evening meal but on third bar we met a wee guy who had had 21 yes twenty one different operations
and he was very cheerful in spite of this .!! He had two new knee joints and hip joints and wrist 'arm '
shoulder and many other places so I found that interesting but he admitted his job did not help as he was a labourer in the building trade.!!
Anyway lots of beautiful old buildings and especially the Cathedral at Orleans, and going along the
river Loire was really good .
Many other places of interest . Thanks again for interest shown .
Best regards Reg
