Hi All,

Picked up the Turkey, Gammon on the bone and 3 Rib of Beef today, cost a bloody fortune, but they all look yummy, cant wait. Will need to be cooking from Christmas Eve to get this lot ready! But as I'm head chef this year, I will probably need to recruit some help, so you are all invited to Christmas lunch with me and my family as long as you arrive in time to help me cook

I am really looking forward to it, I have this year got all NINE Grandchildren and their Parents coming, it's going to be magical

What are you folks up to this Christmas? Whatever it is I hope you have a very HAPPY AND SPECIAL one.

Well you really are having a Christmas feast, and it all sounds amazing. I have never bought a turkey in my life, as here in Oz it is usually a glazed ham on the bone, pork and seafood. Well that's what we will be having. Some people do a turkey but I wouldn't know where to start with one.

What a great day you have planned with all your wonderful grandchildren there, now that's the one thing I have never been blessed with, but I guess there is still time If the heat we are getting here is anything to go by, it will be hot. I have been here almost 40 years and I have never got used to having a Christmas lunch in the heat, it just doesn't seem normal It was 42 on Friday, and boy does that heat drain the life oot of you, they said the weather for Christmas Day should be around 24, so I'll take that as it's a whole lot better than 42

Lovely seeing what's on the menu. John if you had given me an earlier invitation I would have accepted. Wanted to ask you what a 3 rib beef is? I'm wondering if it's what we call a Prime rib roast here, but not sure. Sounds great anyway.
Rosemary I'm glad it's cooling down for you. The snow in my street is almost gone and we are supposed to have sunshine on Christmas day. As for how to cook a turkey, Rosemary it's the easiest thing in the world to cook. Your food though sounds delicious too.
Our day will consist of going to my daughter's for breakfast, then dinner is at my house. We're having turkey and ham, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, cranberries, a few different veggies which will include brussel sprouts which my kids love and their partners hate.
John I hope you have a great time with your family and all the grandkids. I have two grandkids, one is 2, the other 8 months and another one on the way. Just love them and always have fun with them.

Hi John, Rosemary & Sheila All the meals sound delicious it's setting the table on Christmas that I love with the crackers etc I do a lot of craft and I bought a die to make crackers but didn't know where to get the wee banger bi for the middle they are more like an ornament but they look snazzy.

The weather here is terrible we've got the rain with the cold and it's miserable and the people are running about mad as if it's the last day on earth buying food etc. Remember all our shops used to open at Christmas it was at the new year we celebrated more, and ad to buy so many loaves and milk incase you run out of it Then they didn't have the big supermarkets in my days

When I came out of chapel this morning it would have blew you of your feet but then that would take some doing with me they would need Finieston crane to lift me no only joking!!
I, like John used to have all my 3 sons and 2 daughters their better halves and all the grandweans so it was some fete but I loved it, now I go to their houses.
My daughter doesn't buy turkey she is into all these fancy foods but she is a great cook so I can't complain.

I'll get up and go to half past nine mass then have my breakfast and then the family will come up with the prezzies and then we'll go down to my oldest daughters so I am looking forward to it.
Some of them will not have a drink so that they can run the "old yins" hame at nightime

Went into the "bookies" on Thursday to put my Irish lottery on and said I think I'll do the same numbers on the 49's for some of you who are not gamblers it is something like what they had in Al Capones days so you can either take 1 to 6 or 5 numbers so I took 3 and put a £1 on it and came up so I will collect £601 for my £1 nice Christmas present

Half of it is away I bunged the family a few £'s and not forgetting hubby so he got a bigger "carry oot" than normal
If I'm not on in the next few days I hope the admin staff and all my friends on here has a Wonderful Christmas and a Bright and Happy New Year and "Aw ra best for 2014"

Well done Amelia on having some luck, that was a great wee windfall at this time of the year, very nice of you to look after the family and hubby, but don't forget to treat yourself as well. Everybody's plans sound great, there will be loads to eat by the sound of it. I changed my glaze for my ham this year and I'm so happy with it, it is cooling down now. Sheila one of these years I'll try a turkey if it's not hard to cook.
Just enjoy the time with your families, and most importantly the grandchildren as it's wonderful to see wee faces light up as they rip open their presents.

Hi Gang,
Oh your all making my mouth water , I'm going to my youngest daughters house [Danielle] for Xmas dinner and my other daughters and 5 grandweans will be there and my son in laws will be there too, so a Happy Christmas is in store for us all .
