Trying to trace anyone who would know about the Inglis family. Peter Inglis (born in 1929) Lived in the Gorbals until the 1960s, I think - mother and father were John & Catherine Inglis. Also the McCaffertys. Peter Inglis married Margaret McCaffery in 1965. Any info would be gratefully received. This site is amazing - it's the only way to keep history alive - you can't rely on town planners and councils, they have a habit of knocking everything down and destroying people's history and heritage in the process.

Just read the news about George Best's passing, he will be remembered as the world's greatest soccer player, strange as it may seem, my Mum bought his autobiography over from Scotland for my son two years ago. May he find peace in a better place, God Bless him. Regards Ann

F.A.O - Charley of Winnipeg brought back memories of the "Bees" Remember the guy with the DDT spray and the crisps they were brilliant. The only thing I didn't like was they always turned the water off maybe it was for us to buy drinks from the kiosk. The big guy with the alsation dog and having to queue into the rows single file. Last picture I remember seeing there was Friendly Persauvsion Gary Cooper. What part of Winnipeg do you stay in my niece is living in the district of Charleswood was over there 10 years ago but next year my sisters and I are off to New York on April and then on to Boston looking forward to it.

The Wellington cinema near the Clyde on a foggy Winter night, plus everybody smoking, people at the back shouting down to those in front "who got shot"? You couldn't see anything, good luck trying to get your money back, lots of laughs... then.

To the Administrator. Thank you for the message on the website today. I also think that people looking for family in the Gorbals before the 1900's is also taking up a lot of your space. It seems futile.

Brought up in Springburn from 1948. Wondering if anyone can remember Willie Mills, Rose Mills, Adam Black Or Susie Burns from Springburn Rd. near the Boundry Bar 1960.

Polite Message from administrator: "This site is created for the Gorbals area of Glasgow, can any people finding request be kept to this area as you can see this page is large enough. If it went city wide there would be no way of maintaining the site as there is no funding supplied for this.
