Easter.

Post by DannyGill »

Hi Gang,
Would like to wish everyone on the G/A a very peaceful and happy Easter time, got all my grandkids their choc-Easter eggs and they will have a great time I'm sure. I remember when I w as a wean my Ma used to give my sister Jeanette and me hard boiled eggs which we painted a face on then went over to Richmond park to roll them down the wee hill/brae , ran after them and when we got to the bottom we took the shells off and eat them, that was magic. Nowadays Easter just like Xmas time is all so commercialised with all these theme parks open and inviting you to go and visit them [while costing you a fortune], ah changed days from the soo-side lol. Take care everyone and have a great Easter [while trying to remember what Easter is really about].
Regards.
Danny. :)

Yes, Danny, the true meaning of Easter is lost on so many people...Easter eggs, Easter Bunnies and Lambs are all lovely for the children but how many of us reflect on what Easter is truly about...I will let everyone think about that for a couple of minutes...It is the greatest feast on the Christian calandar...So I wish everyone a truly Blessed Easter and good times with your families. God Bless you all, Peace and Prayers,
Margaret

Danny, I have just been talking to my daughter here about the hard boiled eggs and that my dad boiled them
in the teapot then it was off up to the Queens Park to do exactly as you did, she remembers us doing the same thing here but sadly that tradition has all but gone and it was walking to the Queenie. Frank
