Snooker.

Post by DannyGill »

Hi Peeps,
Don't know if any of you are Snooker fans but Iv'e been glued to the tv for the last two weeks watching the World Snooker finals and what a great final between Mark Selby and Ronnie O'Sullivan. I wasn't really a big Snooker fan until Alex [Hurricane] Higgins came along and he seemed to put new blood into the sport , then Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry etc. I'm sure people had their own favourites, what about the black ball final between Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor going right down to the last ball. There's been great players from all over the World in the past playing at the World finals, who was your favourite ?. Hope you're all keeping well folks, hope to hear from you soon.
Regards.

Hi Danny been watching it myself what a final I thought Ronnie was going to come back he was unlucky but it was good for Mark Selby, Ronnie has won it the last 2 years or more.
You don't get guys going to the snooker a lot now there used to be a billiard room inCommercial Rd. at Rutherglen RD end you had to go up the stair to it.
When my grannie used to run out of pennies for the gas meter she used to send us up to it to get change.
There is one in Mount Florida and one in Shawlands that's what they should build in the housing schemes for the kids keep them of the streets as thee is nothing to do up here them or even a picture house istad of these big ones in the town but te are g one up in Pollok at the shopping centre where the "bundy" used to be

Hi Amelia,
Yes it was a good final and although I like Ronnie, it was good to see Mark win otherwise it can get a bit predictable but yes a good final Amelia and a great contest for the whole 2 weeks. I remember when i was about 15 years ld we used to go over the Toon to the Imperial [?] Billiards hall just off of Argyle st to play snooker with my pals but I wizzny very good. Loved it when I went to OZ and they had pool table [much smaller than the snooker tables]. Great attraction in all the pubs then same as here in this country now too. Wish there was more recreation halls etc for the youth of today and work too, I pity the young people who can't get a job, when we left school there was always plenty of work about Amelia, canny see it getting better in the future although I hope I'm wrong. Right I'm off to make something to eat , speak later Amelia, take care and God Bless.
Regards.
Danny. :)
