World cup football.

Post by DannyGill »

Hi Peeps,
Just wanted to say that I love when the World cup comes round [only every four years], I have plenty of beers chilling in the fridge although some of you [especially the Ladies ?] will give it the elbow. What do the Ladies do if Hubby is watching the fitba on the telly ?. I'm glued to the tv but then again I'm on my own so no one to ask for the channels to be changed lol. What do you do Girls when the fitba's on ?.
Regards.

Hi Margaret, Danny
I've got a telly in the bedroom so I go in there. :D
I thought you were stopping the drink Danny until you came up for your reunion
I always meant to ask you how did you find out about it as I didn't know and there is not much I miss :D
I heard through a couple of women that goes to the chapel talking about it anway nearly all the ones that I knew from the Sooside are long gone :( and I don't think they would recognise me with my white hair, glasses ,false teeth, oot of shape and now I have a hearing aid  it's only my name people remember me by as no one had my name when I was young now it's a common as muck everyone is calling their children Amelia.

Hi Margaret and Amelia,
You go to the shops Margaret, when the World cup matches are on, well good on you lol, Amelia I will just be having a few beers indoors when the Football's on but the main drinking will begin when I'm up in Glesga for the 6 days [including the Gorbals reunion on Fri night 8th August]. As for finding out about the reunion it was posted about big time on one of the Gorbals face book sites= the 350 tickets were sold within 48 hours. Most of the people that I knew in the soo-side are spread all over the place [some will have passed away, God Bless them] although I met up with 2 of my ex schoolmates from wee Bonnies my primary school, the rest of the people that I now know are new friends from face book, I did meet up with a few of them last year when I was up for a weeks hol, in the Brazen Head and Laurieston bars. As for names Amelia my grandweans are called Chloe, Amber, Phoebe, Elsie and Sonny so looks like some names from the past are coming back. Well I'm just watching the Francev Honduras match at the moment so will speak later girls so take care and God Bless.

Regards.

Hey Danny, in answer to your Question about what we do when the World Cup is on, well I settle in and watch EVERY GAME. I love the world cup and have followed and watched every tournament since Germany 1974. :-D This is when I first became aware of it. :) also watch the European Championships as well. Domestic football doesn't interest me. :-)

Hi Josie,
Fair play to you, yes I'm glued to the tv watching the World cup too, up to now we have some very good matches but a few that's been poor but that's par for the course. England didn't do too well, although in fairness it was only the odd goal they lost by in their first two matches. As I write I think that Italy, Germany,Argentina and Holland will be in the semis ??. Brazil don't seem to have the magical football that People come to except from them [with the exception of Neymar]. Well lets hope that the remaining matches are crackers, the match last night between U.S.A. V Portugal was a cracker although both sides made mistakes giving the ball away too often but a great match to watch. Speak later Josie , thanks for answering my post.
Regards.
Danny :)
