There are many reasons why this site has failed and its posters have become apathetic. Not least of these are its poorly structured architecture, accessibility and appearance, all of which would not look out of place on a website from 25 years ago. I am all too well aware its easy to criticise something merely for the sake of criticism. However, the potential for success of a healthy vibrant discussion forum based on local Gorbals culture and its influence upon both its present populace and its larger diaspora remains, I think, a real one. Those negative aspects of my comments notwithstanding I would like to stress that the not inconsiderable efforts of the owners of this website are to be highly commended in their attempts to pick up the largely thankless task of following the success but unfortunate demise of the original site. I sincerely hope that some more exciting and stimulating reincarnation of this forum can be found. Until then I wish all those who hold dear, or otherwise, their common Gorbals roots the very best both now and in the future.

I believe that Facebook is shutting this site down. It was a very vibrant means of communicating with old Gorbals friends and I don't know if they have all died or just cannot be bothered to come on here again and get some lift into it. Come on your folks who used to be so verbal. Let's give in another "Shot" as we used to say.
