Agnes married a boyd . he work at the co, I think on Jamaica st . the Boyds lived just off Cumberland St. cant remember st name but it was round the corner from the wee icecream shop Hassan Dakan's mother ran. Anecdote Hi all, A great site for us that were fated to be born and live our young lifes in Gorbals, Hutchesontown, Oatlands.. Some hellava stories . Funny, sad, and possible fictional. Now the Granite City Pub many of us know changed its name to The Brazenhead (present day) . A famous old Juvenile club was once based their back in the 1950's .. and went defunct 1967 Rancel Juv. All named below were born between 1942 - 1945 GKs Dennis Connachan / Frank Sweeney Both Gorbals RB John Boner Gorbals LB Tam Brown Rutherglen RH John O'Neil Gorbals CH Alan Dollar Gorbals LH Peter Kerr Govan and latterly Toryglen OR Alfred Woods Govan / Plantation IR David McNally Govanhill CF Bobby Shearer Govan IR Andrew Grant Springfield Road, Parkhead OL David Morland Gorbals/Govanhill Outstanding outfit and league Champions 1963/4 plus other trophy's. Paddy Crerand, Charlie Callagher, and I think John Kurila all Celtic FC players had previously represented Rancel JUV Any followers of Gorbals Live Anecdote know any of the above who are now aged 67 - 70. Many happy days and a great bunch of footballers to have known. I wish them well and hopefully someone out their can let me know all are alive and well.
