another Gorbals video

Post by pbmchugh »

This is not strictly speaking a video. I was fortunate enough to be select for a short story for a BBC Radio series and this is the audio transmission to which I have added some old photos of the Gorbals and some photos of my own. Thanks to every one who responded to the video ‘Gorbals Wedding 1961’ it makes the effort worth while.
There are two minor errors in ‘wedding’. One is the date which was confirmed by Pat Fleming (in the comments) as 28th. April 1963, the date of his mum and dad’s wedding, and it should be, of course, a ‘scramble’ not a ‘scrabble’. Regards to all
Brian

Hi Brian, must say i really enjoyed your wee video very much and thanks for bringing back the memories of yesteryear.
I would also like to commend you for you're book"Torn Edges" it was a terrific read and you cleverly entwined the murder in Glasgow with the terrible events of the Irish Civil War. I would highly recommend anyone who is a book reader to buy a copy, the copy I bought from Ringwood Publishers was personally signed by your good self and I thought that was a great personal touch. So double thanks Brian for the video and you're book. take care and God Bless.

Danny :)
