Another Random "shocking" memory!
Another Random "shocking" memory!
There was a shop on Caledonia Road between Naburn Street and Camden Street , I think. It had a penny puggy and also a penny in the slot machine with two metal knobs - when you turned the right hand knob you started to get an electric shock - the object was to turn the knob as far as possible before your arms were totally contorted! Can't remember how much I could take, probably not a lot!

Hi Jimbo,
I remember this very well. All the class mates used to line up in the sop and hold hands while some mug was nominated to operate the machine, usually me! The kids at the back of the queue used to shout out " turn it up, turn it up " Used to make your hair stand on end, but was great fun.
Good memory.

The only thing missing was Dr. Frankenstein standing behind the counter shouting "It's ALIVE, it's ALIVE"!!
