To Joe who wanted to know if there was anyone who remembered the BBB's picture house. Yes, I did, although I thought from memory it was in Adelphi St. I remember my mother didn't like us going there as she thought we came back with extra cargo so it was the Paragon in Cumberland Street we had to go to on a Saturday afternoon. The day we went to see 'The Song of Bernadette' I was turned away because I wasn't eight yet and that was the age for getting into see that particular movie. Don't know why. I grew up in Mathieson St, Moffat St where my granny lived in 410 and then round the corner in Rutherglen Road across from DIRTY MAGGIE's book store. Our close was between Cochrane the Grocers and Cockburn the chemist. Went to St. Francis School in 1941 the Oatlands School when my mother took us out of the Catholic School.

I am writing on behalf of my parents Frank & Jean Dempsey (nee McGrath) who are well and living in Ontario. Both of them attended St Francis School in the mid 30's and my father was the son of Frank & Annie Dempsey (nee Kane) of Homfaulhead Dr. The Dempsey clan was rather large, Frank, Jim, Jack, Ron, Annette and Irene. The McGraths were Joseph & Mary (nee McGirr) Jean, Mary, Pat and Margaret. If anyone out there were schoolmates or friends, let me know and I will give them a message.
