Does anyone remember anyone with the surname Farrell who lived in Florence Street? This could be as far back as the 1930's and up to the 50's or 60's. My sister and I are trying to trace our dad's family. It's not much to go on, but its all we have. Thanks.

Looking for information about my Dad, Bobby Russell and Grandad, Dick Russell, we all lived up 73 Thistle St. Remember Maw Maggie, The Johnstones, the Crawfords, Mrs Coyle (mother of Danny & Tam fruitshop owners) and various others up and down the street from '55 to late '60's when I moved up to Govanhill. I am trying to put together a family tree, my Granny was Martha Irvine, I think we lived in the Tradeston/Centre St area before Thistle St. Same memories as everyone else, playing "fitbaw" in the street and getting "booked" by plains clothes cops, Peter the paperman, the dentist up above the bank at the corner of Rutherglen Rd and Crown St, getting the old "wally moulds" for chalk to draw on the walls and the lassies to make "beds", tents made out of old doors, midden bins and card board, penny candles, first kisses and slaps!!!! Anybody remembers me please get in touch, 'e'mail address, irv73@rogers.com, appreciate any info, c'mon the HI-HI!!!

After leaving school he used to deliver fish on a bike with a basket on the front - does anyone know what the shop was called? After that job he drove a van delivering grocery's then he joined the army, I can remember going to a shop and buying a 1d packet of broken crisps they were the good old days.
