Amelia, I believe Image Shack (No 5 in the list) is a favourite for storing Pics. http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/image-hosting-websites

Photobucket is also favoured!

Hello Jimbo,

Just to clarify something here. You can in fact upload images stored on your computer. The Upload loads a copy to the media store which is part of the forum setup. You can also link to images on other sites such as the ones mentioned. There are a few ways to show attachments and images in these forums but the upload attachment is the easiest to use.

To upload an image from your own computer is as simple as using the Upload attachment and using the browse button to find the image you wish to upload on your computer. The image can then be shown inline in your message. Once you've done it once you will find it quote straightforward.
I have emailed and pm'd Amelia and am awaiting a response.

Thanks for your support and hope we can get Amelia up and running with things soon.

Anthony, thanks for the clarification, I was misled by the FAQ into thinking that images could not be LINKED to, from your computer. I tried the Upload Attachment route, but something went wrong and 3 images were uploaded which I deleted! I may try again later.

Jimbo and Amelia, you can post direct from the computer, I did it with the photo I posted. at the bottom of the box you type your reply message into there is a button that says choose file. When you click on that button it takes you to where your files are on your computer and when you find the one your want and click on it, then click on the open button bottom left of the box that opened up. The file (for photo) you chose should show in box below choose file button and then you press the add file and it should then be posted.

Thanks Josie, making another attempt!
PS you have to also click on "Place inline"
I resized this photo and turned it into a painting just as an experiment to see if I could post it!
Over to you, Amelia!!

Support matters

Post by TheGorbalsAdmin »

Just so that people know, I have been pm'ing or emailing people when they have an issue regards use of the site. This could be to do with posting images or whatever else.
I do these support communications directly via pm and email to save clogging up the forums with support subjects and so that those requiring support get it direct to their inbox, leaving the forums to be filled with anecdotes and images.

If anyone wishes to offer support to other users then it would be helpful if you could try to do this via pm or email also. It helps keep the forums focussed on the matters at hand. Hope this is ok. This is not a telling off for anyone!

Thanks and hope we can get Amelia online with this image soon as I think theres a bit of expectation building!

All the best for now
