Hi Sheila, Danny and Margaret and all the gang weather here was lovely today but we are still getting rain. Sheila gad your hubby is coming on so be patient.
Right I'm going to tell you about an article that was in the metro (it's a free paper that the buses print) now Anthony might bar me off this site but I cannot resist no telling the story because I laughed my head off when I read it on the bus so here goes and I hope no one takes offence with it. :D
A guy paid £83 on the net for a contraption to make his penis bigger  and when it arrived inside the parcel there was a magnifying glass and the instructions on it was not to use in the sunlight
Sorry guys    how can anyone be so daft you've either been endowed with a big one or a wee one
Oh that's 3 Hail Marys I'll have to say

Hi Danny...You certainly know your Bible...When the people asked Jesus who he was, he replied...."I am, who am." How about that ! ! ! ! You could not imitate a better Man...

Hi folks,
Quick update on my husband. He has improved but not at the rate surgeon had hoped. So still in physiotherapy which may be getting increased to five times a week rather than the three. So doing the best we can and trying to stay positive. Unfortunately had to cancel our trip to Scotland for September but maybe we can go next year.
Thanks to the people who sent me emails asking for an update, your kind thoughts are really appreciated.
Bye for now, Sheila :)

Hi , Sheila & Danny.

First of all sorry to hear about your husbands accident and I would like to wish him a speedy recovery
and on a more positive note congrats . on the birth of your second Grand -daughter.
What date was she born and what did you call her ? :)
Iwas over in Glasgow in June and bought a new Computer in Braehead and it has been a bit temperamental. but I am getting there now. I felt like a writer that has dried up and was struggling for
things to Post.!
I have also been thinking a lot about the Independance vote and I will be sending e mails re. my views on that one . My views are from an exiled Scot who does not have the Vote .!!! So watch this space or more
like "The Glasgow Herald ". Anyway Danny if I see a Magpie I always salute it and then try and find a second one.! At the moment I have been making home made "Plum " Jam as have lots of them in the Garden
also a Glut of Figs and have made about 6 jars of Fig chutney. Everything is growing like mad at the moment although thankfully the grass has slowed up..
I must praise the FRENCH railways after a trip to the South of FRANCE which was a 7 hour trip with a
couple of changes along the way. I have been watching some of the Commonwealth Games and the
Marathon that went through Bellahouston Park reminded me of the 1986 Glasgow Marathon which
also went through the same Park and as well as having having a good run the reception that all the runners got was just fantastic. :) Any will try and get a few more posts in and keep in touch
Best regards
Reg :D

Hi Reg
Glad to see you back on again on the site it has been awful slow so here's hoping all the Gorbalites that will be going to the "DO" in the Glencairn club will let us know if it was worth it and give us all the gossip.
Most of my friends are dead and gone God Bless them there is only two of the men left Frank McGuigan my husband and forgetting about Ushie" Hugh McConnell but don't know if he is dead or alive so if his sister still comes on here for a wee visit let me know.
We all ran about Commercial Rd. And Lawmoor St in the early 50's
Hope you are getting the hang of your new computer, did you get a laptop? I cannot take to them cannot get used to the wee cursor "thingmyjig" prefer my big one with the mouse I know you can attach a mouse to it but still prefer my old one.
Hope you are well Reg and glad you are back with us all again, pity the rest i.e. Josie, Surreyboy etc. don't come back on but it's the facebook that's keeping them off, so if you read this posting give us a few wee words an let us know how you all are.

Hi Amelia ,
Many thanks for your reply and I grew up in Wellcroft Place and I am afraid I was a bit of a wanderer and observed many people and situations in those early years . Like Danny I have never really
forgotten my roots.
I bought a new Lap top and like all new technology it takes a little time and patience to get used to it .
We were up in June and as well as the Computer we also "Leapt" forward and bought a Smart Phone
and this very sensitive "touch type " phone is extremely sensitive. needless to say we are coming up for my
niece's Wedding in December and we may even go back to Orange and get our money back .!
For two very simple reasons ;
We have not been able to answer a call since we bought it and secondly we live in France and some
how we have been denied access to our "Voicemail" messages soyesterday we bought a cheap French phone
so although it is and old type at least we can make a call in case of an Emergency.
We had a fabulous Fish Supper in Glasgow and went on the Underground from Scotland Street to
St. Enoch Square. and did some " Retail Therapy".
Have you been watching much of the Commonwealth Games ?
Finally when I grew up in Glasgow I always thought that St. Roch only had a good football
team but on my recent holiday to South of France I found out all about him and what a good and
humble man he was giving away all of his wealth and trying to help the poor and under priviledged.

Take care and God Bless

Regards Reg

Hya Reg +gang,
Great to hear from you mate and I know what you mean about new computers and/or a new laptop, Each time I buy a new laptop is sooooo much more advanced than the precious one it takes me ages to get used to it lol. I also bought one of those "smart" mobile phones Reg and at first trying to send a text message was murder as my fat fingers kept pressing the wrong keys but I eventually got the knack of it, in one way it's a God send 'cause when you're away on holiday you can read all your e-mails and answer/post to face-book too. I go up to Glasgow this Monday 4th Aug for a week to take in the old place again and every time I do visit Glasgow I still expect to find the Gorbals/Oatlands Soo-side area still to be as I left it 46 years ago and it still comes over as a bit of a downer when I look at all the new housing standing there where the auld Tenements used to be but as they say life moves on. I used to stay in the Travelodge Hotel just round the corner from Sauchiehall st but this year they wanted almost double the money so I thought I would have a change and as friends of mine recommended the Eurostar Hostel in Jamaica st./Clyde st I booked in there. Once again I did it online and I could look at their rooms and they all look spot on, when People say a Hostel you think of maybe room sharing [and this can be had in the Eurostar] but I have a room on my own en suite and it works out at £175 for the 7 nights that I'm there so I'm well pleased as I only have my Pension money to get by on [I never saved up in my life time but I have no regrets as that's the way I wanted to live my life and given my life to live over would do the same :) ] I have a few friends to meet up that I saw/met last year through some of the Glasgow face-book sites and a few of my old school classmates so it's going to be a busy week for me as I have to meet people all over the soo-side which is great. Amelia I will let people know how the reunion went and 'am sure it's gonny be a great night, right I will finish for now folks so take care all and God Bless.

Regards.
Danny :)
