This has been a great place to meet and greet old Gorbals pals so I hope I see some of the old folks back on here again.

Oh, Amelia, I owe you and e:mail and I promise I will get it out to you this week...Here in New Jersey we did not have the snow that the people up in Buffalo had about ten days ago...That was horrible and a couple of people died because of it...

I see in the Times that you all have Black Friday in Glasgow...Whit a mess that is...We had Thanksgiving here on Thursday and it used to be a holiday for everlyone, a family holiday no matter what colour or creed you were...But, now a lot of the big shops are open so they can get the people in before Black Friday...All our holidays are now reduced to the almighty pound and dollar...Where is Jesus in all of this. Hya Margaret,
Yes that snow sure looked terrible and were lucky we haven't had any [although the kids love it, same as when we were weans lol]. I'm afraid that most of the meaning about Our Lord being born and his birthday being celebrated for that reason has gone, it's all a money making concern for all the big supermarkets/shops. I look at children nowadays and wanting lap-tops/video games etc for Xmas and they must be top of the range too !!!!!, I know when we were weans we got maybe one present and a stocking with an orange or apple in it and we were all pleased but now all thoughts of celebrating the birth of baby Jesus are as you say gone !!!!!.
Anyway Margaret I hope you have a peaceful Xmas and the Family all get together, take care and God Bless. x

Regards.
Danny :)

FaceBook? too many members from some of the ones I am an on are posting away on FB
I don't like it, its like a big roll of toilet paper
I have to be on it as I am part of the admin teams on a few FB pages
I heard last week that building will continue in Gorbals and Oatland's till 2020
Norfolk Court at Gorbals Cross, should be emptied by the 17th of December, I have no idea when it will be demolished

Hya Norrie,
I know what you mean about face-book as it actually starts to take you over lol, I was in so many face-book sites that I wasn't having any time to read my books or listen to radio or watch a wee bit of telly !!!, so now Norrie I have cut myself off from most of those sites. I am on one for Oatlands, 2 for Gorbals , a book site for Gorbals people and that's it. It does become compulsive [if you let it], now I am on face-book for about half an hour in the morning and the same at night-time and that's it. Well Norrie I see that other buildings are due now to be demolished[Norfolk court], all I can say is that I'm glad that I was born n bred in the days of the auld Tenements and that wonderful community spirit we all had. Will finish for now Norrie and hope that you , wife and family have a peaceful Xmas. Take care m8 and speak later.

Regards.
Danny :)
