Hi Margaret,
I agree but it looks like there are only going to be a few of us posting on the G.A. now, I truly think that most people who used to post on here have either went to Face-book or just once in a blue Moon scroll through the posts. There have been a few calls in the past for former people of the site to please start posting/commenting again but dosn't seem to be working. I must say that I am on face book most days but at least once a week I will go the Gorbals Anecdotes and leave a message or answer somebody's post. Anyway with saying that Margaret I hope you and all the family are all well, take care and God Bless. x

Regards.
Danny :)

Sorry Margaret/Danny I haven't been on myself between visiting hospital watching grand weans everyday and doing shopping there isn't enough hours in the day for me.
I haven't even been doing my craftwork so I don't know where the time has went and I am up between 6/7 in the morning.
This place is chaotic (Glasgow) and it will be worse when the games start it is going beyond a joke with all the buses changing routes, some of the shops at Mount Florida is having to close as the parking is a no go. Also some parts of Castlemilk is the same due to the mountain bike track up in Cathkin Braes.
Over in the East End there is a curfew for the kids so I have been told that they cannot go out to play after 7pm when the games are on.
Last Monday Jerry and I were over at my sons and took a taxi home and he had to do a detour as some of the roads were closed. You ought to see down at Hampden there are loads of white tents keep looking to see if Laurence of Arabia jumps out of one
How is your gout Danny my son had a bout of it and like yourself he was in agony couldn't wear his shoes had to change into flipfops for comfort hope you are much better.
I've had a look at facebook but couldn't get my head around it so I came of . If you jump to the site on Sheila I hope your husband is keeping better and on the mend. Just heard James Gardner died loved him in the films with Doris Day and he was a goodlooker :D
Weather here has been quite good.

Hi Amelia,
Wow it sounds as if Glasgow is really busy with the Commonwealth games and that's great.. My Gout has gone for the time being Amelia, I would never wish that pain on my worst enemy and when you have it if someone threatened to drop a tissue on your foot then you would kill them [well you know what I mean]. Yes it's sad that James Garner passed away as I really liked him, I remember watching him in Maverick way back in the 1960's. Our weather here in London has been really hot again but with a few Thunderstorms too, the next few days are gonny be really warm again so I'll be sitting under my ceiling fan :) with a cold beer. Well Amelia another 2 weeks today and I travel up to Glasgow landing on the 4th Aug till the 11 th. So looking forward to the Gorbals reunion night. Will finish for now Amelia so take care and God Bless. x

Regards.

HI Danny, I think you should refrain from drinking the cold beer and stick to"City Gin" (water) if you want to go to the big reunion... ;) ;) ;)
You would not want to miss that now, would you?
It is very hot here again today...We had a couple of days in the low 80's and now it is going up near 90 today. So I am on my way out the the supermarket to get some messages in before it get too hot..

So, as I say, stay off the beer...It really doesnae quench your thirst at all...Stick to the waater...

Fondly,
Margaret

Hi everyone
Amelia Glasgow roads sounds a nightmare. Watched the opening ceremonies but unfortunately our channels only showed part of it although they strung it out for over 2 hours. Our weather here is up and down, in the high 90's some days which is unbearable then next day raining. You mentioned being at the hospital I hope you and your husband are both well? That was sad about James Garner, loved him too and yes he was a really good looker Amelia.
Danny I think you will have a brilliant time at the reunion because the people all seem to be a right laugh. I really miss that here where I live, Canadians are very reserved most of the time. Have had so many laughs at some of the Gorbals people comments that it's made some of my days a lot brighter. Hope the gout is gone and you're ready for some dancing.
Margaret think the reason a lot of people are staying on Facebook is because they can post and get an instant answer and actually have a live conversation. Like you, I will not be at the Gorbals reunion but wish them all well and hope we'll get some posts on here about it. Hope you're doing well and your weather is more stable now.
Amelia will update post about hubby on the "just popping in thread" as I got a few messages saying I hadn't updated it and just left it hanging. Sometimes though like you, not enough hours in the day for me.
Take care everyone and all the best Sheila

Hi Shelia and Gang,
Looks like the games in Glasgow are a big hit and fair play to everyone from the contestants to the Organisers and people helping to make it happen, well done everybody. My Gout has now gone Shelia [thank God] but I had an ingrowing toe-nail and had to go to Hospital to get it cut out, Oh what a pain I was screaming in agony as the Lady Chiropodist cut into my nail, That's the first Woman in years to make me cry ha ha. The weather here in London has been really warm and so sunny but some days are a bit too warm. I have my ceiling fans on most of the time especially at night time when it gets very sticky, well Shelia I travel up to Glasgow next week Monday the 4th Aug for 7 nights and 6 days with the Gorbals reunion being held on the 8th [Fri night] so I will tell you all about it when I get back. Amelia I also hope you and your Husband are doing well and the Hospital visits [?] are over [?]. Will finish for now Peeps so take care all.

Regards.
Danny :)
