Kisses For Bus Tickets

Post by braveheart »

Hi All,

I can remember when I was a kid frantically searching through bus ticket waste bins searching for any tickets that had serial numbers adding up to 21, because it used to entitle you to ask a girl for a kiss on producing said ticket! True honestly. I hope some of you lot can remember this as my other half ( who is a sasanach ) says I'm havering haha.

It used to work for me, especially with the girls that were older than me, they thought it was great fun and felt chuffed you asked them, bless them.

I have heard of that, used to know people who had done it, before my time i think. Years later they used to do something similar with wrigleys chewing gum wrappers but not sure if it was along the same lines.

I think I can remember a short lived craze, possibly in the 50's, because of a rumour that bus tickets with certain serial numbers had some kind of value, when bin raking was rife! Can't, for the life of me, remember why!
