Many thanks to Admin & staff/volunteers running this site

Post by Granny911 »

Just wanted to thank you all for getting this site back up and running. Due to which, I have managed to renew a friendship with an old friend I haven't seen or heard from in 44 years. After seeing a few postings on here I started wondering if they could be from someone I knew from all those years ago and took a chance and sent a pm (personal message) to see if it was my old friend. Turned out it was. So I would like to say a great big Thank You as I am now in touch with Rosemary (Red Scot) after all these years. She is in Australia and I'm in Canada and all thanks to the Gorbals site we have renewed a friendship by emails and have talked on the phone several times. It's been fantastic catching up on each other's lives again and feels like the years and distance have melted away. Please keep up the good work, the site is really enjoyable now that there is no bickering or nonsense going on, just genuine people exchanging memories and banter. Thanks again, :D Sheila :D

Hi Shelia,
HEAR HEAR, I would like to back you up there and say a big thank you to all the Admin team for getting the site up and running again, it#s great as you say Shelia there's no bickering just genuine people reminiscing and wasn't it great you got speaking to Rosemary again. I meet up with her in just over a weeks time when she comes over to London and 'am looking forward to that very much.
Regards.
Danny :)

I am Rosemary, the other half of this friendship with Sheila and I would just like to repeat her thanks to all the Admin/Staff of the site, I was never on the old site and it's not long since I joined this new site and how happy am I that I did. I never in my wildest dreams ever thought I would make contact with Sheila again, and I was so excited to recieve her original message. In fact I dont think a day has gone by since we have re-connected that we have not e-mailed each other, and as Sheila said we have spoken on the phone a few times. It doesnt matter the amount of years apart or estranged from a good friend as soon as you re-connect you just pick up from where you left off and 44 years just melts away. I'm sure that's what this site is all about reliving old memories, places and people and just wonderful stories between us all.
Thank you so much... Rosemary (redscot)

Hi Danny & Amelia

Yes it was fantastic reconnecting with Rosemary after all these years, and it wouldn't have happened had it not been for this site. So very happy and grateful. Danny I'm sure you and Rosemary will have a lovely time and wish I could be there to join you both. Cheers, Sheila
