Apologies for being absent on parade

Post by braveheart »

Hi all my pals,

Sorry for not being on for a wee while, been really busy. I hope you all had a great Christmas, I had a very good time with all my Grandchildren and all other family members. I'm now exhausted and trying to get over the last few days, but I have really enjoyed it.

Christmas day was great with us all round the table having lunch chatting and catching up, with me asking all the kids for verbal school reports so I can keep an eye on them ;) ;) ;) After lunch we all sat in the sitting room and gave gifts from the tree to each other, I loved it. Then it was me sitting there with a screw driver a pair of scissors and a bunch of batteries for all the little ones presents, why do they have to screw these things to the packaging it's a nightmare to get them unpacked    The other thing I would like to know is why are all the adults/mothers and fathers in the other room drinking and dancing to the xbox karaoke thingymajig thing   I thought it was their job to sort out the kids toys

The kids went to bed around Eleven, late for them really but they had a great time :D :D The adults continued to have fun and now and again joined me and the other half at my beloved cheese board and Merlot, MAGIC :D :D :D Eventually they peeled of and went to bed, the last lot going about three o'clock! With the other half tucked up in bed a few hour before I was finally last man standing, but looking around the room especially in the kitchen, I couldn't go to bed without clearing up and washing up, it wouldn't be fair on my better half. Believe me I'm no angel, but I just had to do it and it made me feel good about myself :) :) I went to bed at 9.30! that's how long it took, plus the fact that some of the young ones had got up early looking for breakfast, so as soon as the first adult appeared I was gone like a shot!

What a wonderful day, I loved it :D

Take care pals

John read your posting that's how the family all come up it's to get a rest as they know that grannie and granda will take over  you can read them like a book.
I remember when I used to have Christmas dinner there used to be about 14 up for dinner and after it they would all disappear and my hubby would be left to wash up always wanted a dishwasher but didn't have room for it as I needed all the units for all the dishes etc maybe if I got rid of all the junk as I am a gadget freak I would have room
As my mother used to always say you liked to see them but like to see the back of them at the end of the night or day :D

Hi Amelia,

You made me laugh reading your post, so funny but so true....  All that maters is everybody has a good time, that's what it is all about. My better half sounds just like you, I always get " I need a bigger kitchen!" and I always reply " If you didn't fill it up with so much junk you would have a bigger kitchen! " It seems to be ok now because every time she goes shopping especially with her sister I always say " Don't buy anything with a plug on it! " So far so good.

Take care Amelia, Happy new year when it comes.
