So nice to see you back on here again, hope your trip went well.

Regards the Clutha tragedy, not a day goes by that I don't think of all those people involved. Like you said the Police are to be commended as are the ambulance and fire department and all other responders. Especially the Glasgow people themselves, just amazing their courage and kindness, it just brings a lump to my throat knowing how many heroes there were that day.

There is an appeal fund, not sure if I'm allowed to post details on here but will do so and hope it's okay with the Moderator.

The quickest and simplest way to donate to the Clutha Appeal Fund is by calling 0141 287 7878 and paying by debit or credit card.
Donations can also be made by cash or cheque at the council's Service Desk at 45 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JE.
Bank payments can be made to Clutha Appeal Fund, Sort Code: 83-44-00, Account 10804129.

Almost £220,000 has been donated to a fund to help bereaved relatives and survivors of the pub helicopter crash which claimed 10 lives.
The Clutha Appeal Fund was set up by Glasgow City Council two-and-a-half weeks ago to help support anyone facing hardship as a result of the tragedy.

There is also a song that can be downloaded from iTunes called "Won't forget" and was written about the victims. Proceeds going to the victims.

The more donations the better.
At times like these it can be hard to find a way to express support or solidarity with those who's lives have been so traumatised by events such as this one.
The hard financial practical support is one such way which will no doubt go some way to aiding those who have lost someone close or whose lives have been permanently marked by what happened to them.

Glaswegians the world over united, the way it should be.

Just found out the band Esperanza the group who were playing in the Clutha the night of the tragedy have released a tribute CD with proceeds going to the victims. The song they were playing when the helicopter hit "was stay strong" how ironic! Sadly there's a statement saying they are not sure if they'll play together again since this tragic event. So many lives touched by this tragic event, God Bless each and every one of them.

Many thanks for the "heads up " on the "Clutha Appeal".
I have now made a donation and like you I felt very sad and cant help thinking about it.
Hopefully the fund will ease some of the financial pain that the victims families are going through
and especially at this time of year. God bless them all.

Hi Gang ,
On a cheerier note I noticed there were a few members had mentioned about the
Lindella Club " which I went to a few times in the early sixties.
My two friends George Pollock and Tommy Auld from Drumchapel used to go firstly for a bit of Dutch
Courage in "Grant Arms Pub" . Then round the corner to I think it was Hope Street ,up two or three flights of stairs where two big bouncers would "frisk " before letting you in . Of course on the way up the stairs in the Queue you would probably eyeing up the "Talent " as it was quite dimly lit in there but for some
reason or other both lads and lassies always looked even better under the "Ultra Violet " light .!!
So anything white would show up really well. We only ever went on a Saturday Night as that was as far as the cash went but it was good value at the time The group that I remember at the time I was called the "Five Minutes". They did a lot of "Tamla Motown " stuff which was popular at the time.
I also believe that the singer " Lulu" may have made her singing debut there or may have sang there as a teenager.?? Perhaps someone could confirm this?? A girl that I met back then was called
Margaret Smith and I saw her a couple of times and I am sure she lived near the " Gorbals"
I know there are millions of "Smiths" lol.

Hi All My Daughter worked in the Mars Bar that was in St Enochs Jim Kerr (Simple Minds) used to play there before they were famous.
Danny Jim Kerrs dad was a hud carrior for the brickies same name as his son although had a nickname don't want to put it on here but he is a lot older than you.
