Gorbalonian, I was just talking about the owner of the shop, who asked you to name the football grounds. He was a lovely man, very good to us kids. He gave me a 2pence coin, just before Decimalisation Day, February 15th 1971. I still have it, somewhere :)

Amelia, I think Barney's might have been called the 51st Bar..not sure, but as Jimbo says, there doesn't seem to be any trace of Barney's..

Billy, was there a Moffat Arms in Moffat Street? I know there was one in Eglinton Street...but the Barney's my friend's talking about was definitely not called the Moffat Arms...thanks anyway Billy.

Danny, it was Amelia who mentioned it, that's why I asked her for information. Jimbo, I've been a member of a few old pub sites for years, and none of us can get any info anywhere on the web, re Barney's Bar. But it did exist under that name...my friend had to go into it every evening after school ...
