Hi Chinas Just out of the Golden Jubilee after a quadruple by-pass, still not 100 per cent yet. But all this talk of mince and totties and cabbage and ribs will certainly help. Surreyboy.

Hi Chinas A torch that could light up three different colours. Probably only cost about three and a tanner, but it was great while it lasted. Surreyboy.

Hi Rose. A penny vantas was a very weak raspberry flavoured drink which we used to buy from Sadies chippy. She made them up herself on the premises and their was no lid or label on the bottle. Would`nt be allowed to day. Surreyboy.

An iced drink made with American cream soda was a special treat in the Red Star café with it`s high backed ornate wooden seats and cold Italian marble tabletops. Hi chinas . Loved John`s story about the woodbine packet.I was at sea in the merchant navy when the president was assassinated. The year before that I was on a ship named RMS Essequibo just off Cuba which America was blockading at the time.American jets used to dive bomb the ship for identification ...
